The Grose River, flowing from its source high in the Blue Mountains west of Sydney, and the Nepean River which rises far off in the Southern Highlands near Robertson, combine at their junction at Yarramundi not far south of Richmond to form the Hawkesbury River.

This river, which encircles the Sydney basin to the west and north, finally flowing into the Tasman Sea between Sydney and Gosford, provides the backdrop to a wide range of activities while being home to the people of Richmond, Windsor and all the rural habitations along the valley.

The river also has a history that goes back to the very early days of colonisation in the late 18th century, and in many ways was pivotal to the eventual success of that colony.

In this production we explore the history, the valley and the goings on in the Hawkesbury today.
